Chinese President Xi Jinping praised the role private businesses have played in Chinese economic development on Saturday. 

He encouraged the national political advisers from the economic sector to make more contributions to China's economy amid a crisis and give full play to the country's potential as the world's largest market.

Xi made the remarks when meeting political advisers from the economic sector at the third session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
