Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Sunday that China will never take the initiative to bully others, but will definitely fight back against any deliberate insults and groundless accusations.
Wang made the remarks at a press conference on the sidelines of the third session of the 13th National People's Congress, as he answered questions of journalists from home and abroad on China's foreign policy and foreign relations.
China always stays committed to the independent foreign policy of peace, Wang said. No matter how the international situation changes, China will hold high the banner of peaceful development and win-win cooperation with all countries to make greater contributions to the world, he added.
Wang stressed that China will never seek hegemony, no matter how the country develops.
"We hope all countries will realize that we are in a community with a shared future. We must render each other more support and cooperation," said Wang.
Wang said there should be less accusation and confrontation, calling on all countries to come together and build a better world for all.
