"All working staff at the institute were involved in the storm of rumors, and bore huge pressures," Yuan Zhiming, a researcher at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and the director of Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory, said during an exclusive interview with CGTN. Though they were wronged and misunderstood, the researchers managed to endure the pressure and adjusted their mindsets to devote themselves to the battle against the pandemic. "Some of us said that we are Wuhaners and we've seen Wuhaners suffering from the epidemic. Compared with the pain and loss of them, no matter how much we're being wronged and how big the pressure we're under, our pain is much smaller and we have no reason not to do our best," Yuan added.
