Aerial shot of 'emerald palettes' in NW China
CGTN

Located in Mang'ai City of the Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China's Qinghai Province, there is an area scattered with many small salt lakes just like palettes. In aerial shot, these "palettes", shine in different shades of green, creating a beautiful summer scenery.

These salt lakes are artificially formed to produce salt with minerals. As the types and concentrations of minerals are different in each lake, the water manifests in different colors.
