The Forest Public Security Bureau of Sanjiangyuan National Nature Reserve received a report there was an injured white-lipped deer on the riverbed near Daiqu Village on Monday. The deer's right hind leg was badly injured in attacks by other animals.

Veterinarians disinfected, sutured and bandaged the deer, which will live in the wildlife rescue station of the Forest Public Security Bureau until it recovers. Forest police will then release it back to the wild.

White-lipped deer are under first-class protection in China.
