Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, tons of medical waste are being created in China. To prevent the further spread of the virus, the waste must be appropriately processed. Li Haipeng is a medical waste disposal worker in Beijing. Since the pandemic began, he and his coworkers have been working tirelessly to process and incinerate COVID-19 medical and domestic waste. All medical waste is sealed in cartons and burned immediately after arriving at the waste treatment plant. By May 20, Li Haipeng and other workers had processed around 8,000 tons of COVID-19 waste.
