Papille, a 9-year-old French cat, has made a full recovery from the coronavirus. She is the first known case of a pet infected with the disease in France. The likely source of infection is the owners, who also suffered from COVID-19. Human to animal transmission is extremely rare, but on the other hand, there is no scientific evidence of humans being infected by pets. Owners don't need to be afraid of catching the virus from pets and, as a general rule, shouldn't abandon them.
