China has completed the construction of the main part of the largest hydroelectric dam under the Aratax water conservation project in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Located at the border of Shache County and Akto County, the hydro dam is the largest of its kind in Xinjiang and can withstand the turbulent waves of floods, with a reservoir storage capacity of 2.2 billion cubic meters.
