The White House was locked down as protesters over George Floyd's death hit the U.S. capital Friday night.
The 46-year-old black man died in police custody this week after now fired Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin handcuffed him and knelt on his neck as Floyd gasped for air.
Chauvin was arrested Friday on charges of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
Videos showed a large group of protesters gathering outside the White House and chanting "black lives matter.”
At press time, the White House had reopened and staff could leave.
