The comparison with America's protests came up in the chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Carrie Lam's regular press a short while ago. She claims that some foreign governments are adopting a double-standard, for example, in how the U.S. government reacts to the riots there, and how it reacted to similar unrest in Hong Kong last year.
