The national security legislation will help Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) sustain law and order. Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the HKSAR told CGTN's Zhu Dan, adding that canceling the city's special trade status will hurt U.S. businesses in HK.

More than 1,300 US firms have offices in HK and provide about 100,000 jobs. In the past decade, the U.S.' trade surplus with HK has been the biggest among all its trading partners, totaling 297 billion USD from 2009 to 2018.
