Minnesota's Attorney General on Wednesday elevated the charge against fired Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin to second-degree murder in the death of George Floyd, a case that has led to more than a week of nationwide unrest and sometimes violent protests against police brutality against African Americans. In terms of the elevated charges, the attorney for George Floyd's family says they are grateful for the upgrading of the charges but cautions that "an arrest is not a conviction."
