China's Commerce Ministry (MOFCOM) said it resolutely opposes the U.S.' recent move of 33 Chinese enterprises, universities, research institutions, and individuals to the export control Entity List, citing reasons of "military involvement" and "human rights," the MOFCOM said on Monday.

"The United States has repeatedly used national security as a reason, abused measures such as export control, and used national forces to crack down on other countries' companies," MOFCOM said.
The ministry added the move causes serious damages to the order of international trade and economics and is a serious threat to the security of the supply chain. It is not positive for China, the United States, or the world.
MOFCOM stressed China urges the U.S. to immediately stop wrong practices and added it will take all necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
