Located at the Ar Horqin Banner, Chifeng City in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Gogostai Haan National Nature Reserve has been seeking to balance commercial activities and ecological protection in recent years.

This nature reserve sits in the south to the Greater Khingan Range, with flourishing flora and fauna thriving in the area. The nature reserve includes areas where herdsmen let their flocks pasture in summer and winter, so it is common to see herdsman and large numbers of animals in transit through the reserve. 

To minimize the impact on both environment and people, the forestry department set a series of regulations to monitor pastoral activities. These rules can help protect the environment while making sure animals are able to graze sustainably.

According to the director of the forestry department, the improvement of local environment will also allow vegetation to grow better, providing human and livestock with more food and products.
