China and India are willing and able to properly solve border issues through negotiation and consultation, said Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying, at a regular press conference on Monday, noting that the overall situation in their border areas is "generally stable and under control."
Hua's remarks came after the meeting between Chinese and Indian military officials on June 6, during which the ongoing border issues and regional situation were discussed.
The two sides reached a consensus during the meeting, Hua added, further expounding that they agreed to implement the important consensus reached by leaders of the two countries.
Hua stressed working together to maintain peace and tranquility in the border areas, so as to create a favorable atmosphere for the stable development of bilateral relations.
