Rare footage captured by infrared cameras shows silver pheasants and red junglefowls foraging peacefully in the same area in Ailao Mountain Nature Reserve in southwest China's Yunnan Province.
Expert says it rarely happens because the two bird species would usually fight with each other over food and territory.
Over 100 cameras have been installed to monitor wildlife, and other roaming animals have been filmed including black bear and red deer. On top of that, scientists have developed nest monitoring strategy to collect instant information on birds from the moment they hatch.
So far, it is estimated that there are over 520 bird species in the reserve.
