An injured black stork chick was spotted by photographers on Gandeer Mountain in Wuhai City, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
Four chicks were found by firefighters in a cave on the cliff. One of them had a nylon rope around its leg and was bleeding. The injured chick was sent to the rescue station in Wuhai's Haibowan District.
Black storks are under first-class state protection in China. The chick will be released to the wild after it recovers.
