The fatal shooting of a black man by a white police officer, this time in Atlanta, Georgia, has added more fuel to the raging racism debate in the U.S. after another round of street protests and the resignation of the city's police chief. The Wendy's restaurant where 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks was killed was set on fire, and hundreds of people marched to protest the killing.

Recorded on video and surveillance cameras, Brooks' fatal encounter with police was the latest in a string of incidents that have sparked a wave of nationwide protests over police brutality. Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced at a news conference that Police Chief Erika Shields had decided to step down.
