For the very first time, images of monkeys looking for crabs under boulders in a stream have been captured in Ailao Mountain National Nature Reserve in southwest China's Yunnan Province.

The staff of the reserve said they have heard that monkeys have come to the spring area to seek food by flipping over the stones, but this time, the videos prove the stories are true.

The footage is the fraction of the collection filmed by infrared cameras mounted in the reserve last May. Many other wild animals also appeared in the videos.

The videos are of great importance in helping scientists study the distribution and behavior of wild animals in the area, according to the staff.
