Jiushan Islands welcome 12 newborn Chinese crested terns

As of June 14, the Juishan Islands National Nature Reserve in east China's Zhejiang Province had welcomed 12 Chinese crested tern chicks.

The Chinese crested tern is an extremely endangered species with a global population of over 100. The nature reserve is the world's largest habitat for the rare bird species.  

This year, 76 Chinese crested terns migrated to the Jiushan Islands for their breeding season, laying a total of 53 eggs.
