Footage of fish jumping out of the water in Erhai Lake, Dali City of southwest China's Yunnan Province have gone viral online.

Local authorities said the fish are silver carp, swimming to a nearby river for spawning.

According to experts, the recent weather changes have resulted in low air pressure that caused oxygen depletion in the lake. The fish were jumping out of the water to get more oxygen from the air.
