Alaska's 'Into The Wild' bus removed from wilderness

An abandoned bus in Alaska featured in the film "Into The Wild" has been airlifted as a public safety measure.

Adventurer Christopher McCandless, the film's subject, has inspired people to find themselves in the wilderness and they have sometimes put themselves in harm's way. Some have had to be rescued, and some even died.

Local mayor Clay Walker called the bus removal "a big relief."

The local Department of Natural Resources said the bus would be kept in a secure location, pending a decision about its disposal.
