The two Atlanta police officers, Garrett Rolfe and Devin Brosnan, charged in the death of Rayshard Brooks turn themselves in to the authorities on Thursday. They were booked at Fulton County Jail in Atlanta.
Brosnan's lawyer said he would soon be out of custody after processing paperwork. Brosnan was released on a signature bond about an hour after presenting himself at the jail and will not be required to wear a GPS anklet, defense attorney Don Samuel said. The officer did not speak to reporters as he left the jail.
Brosnan, faces four counts, including aggravated assault, and might spend up to 20 years in prison, if convicted.
Brosnan stood on Brooks' shoulder after he was shot, according to the prosecutor, and was placed on administrative desk duty, while Rolfe was fired.
Rolfe, who shot Brooks in the back with his gun, was charged with felony murder and 10 other charges.
