With the pouring of the last concrete into the girder of Zangmu Railway Bridge, the two arch sections of the Zangmu Railway Bridge on the Sichuan-Tibet Railway Line were joined. This signifies the completion of the main construction work of the 120 bridges on the line. The Yarlung Zangbo River is the longest and largest waterway in Tibet. The Zangmu Railway Bridge is a landmark bridge structure that crosses this river on the high speed line between Lhasa and Linzhi in mountainous Tibet. The 525.1-meter-long Zangmu Railway Bridge, at an altitude of 3,350 meters, is an arch bridge with the largest span and the highest altitude of this type of bridge in the world.
