A historic spot and popular tourist attraction, the Temple of Heaven also attracts other visitors – birds. As its ecology continues to improve through the years, various species of birds such as the Chinese grosbeak, hawfinch, red-billed chough have chosen the park as their new home. Their beautiful plumage and chirps also bring vitality to the ancient park.
The Temple of Heaven is to the south of Tiananmen Square in the center of Beijing. An ancient imperial complex that was used for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for good harvest, it has now became an extensive park covering an area of 267 hectares.
