About 15,000 vulnerable families in Qom, Iran have received financial support from a local charity called People's Relief Headquarters during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the organization intends to help 5,000 more families in the near future. Mahmoud Parchebaf, manager of People's Relief Headquarters, has worked with his colleagues since February, when many people became unemployed by the coronavirus outbreak. They found 20,000 vulnerable families through local support centers and distributed 5,000,000 Iranian rial (around 118 U.S. dollars) to each of them. The charity has also applied for a license to build a mask workshop as there is a dire shortage in the country.
