Mudflats in east China coastal city attract egrets

The mudflats in the coastal city of Qingdao in east China's Shandong Province have attracted large birds, including egrets.

The pink plants, called seepweeds or sea-blites, grow on coastal salt-flats and tidal wetlands, confined to saline or alkaline soil.
