Scholars from different countries have shared their views on the U.S. "Uygur Human Rights Policy Act of 2020."

"The Americans have issued sanctions and statements and official press releases about human rights issues against countries they are not in good terms with," said Bassem Aly, political editor of Al Ahram Online. He added that the U.S. move is not surprising as U.S. President Donald Trump faces the presidential elections in 2020.

Polish politician and journalist Piotr Gadzinowski said the U.S. is "using human rights as a cover to achieve their own interests". He said, "Different countries have their own cultures and laws, but some countries are using the difference to attack others with a political aim."
