Elsie Leung: Chief executive's power to appoint judges won't undermine judicial independence of HK

The draft of the national security law for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) says the chief executive would have the power to appoint judges to hear national security cases. 

Hong Kong's Bar Association claimed this would erode Hong Kong's judicial independence. 

But Elsie Leung, former HKSAR Justice Secretary, told CGTN this doesn't undermine the independence of HKSAR Judiciary.
