Faced with the sudden onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous musical performances had to be cancelled. As a result, musicians around the world had their professional routines disrupted. But they also found they had more time to enjoy family life. In this special program, we invited Noah Bendix-Balgley, first concertmaster with the Berliner Philharmoniker, and his wife Shanshan Yao, former violinist from New York Philharmonic; Xiaoming Han, principal horn of German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and Shenyang, a Chinese Bass-Baritone. Let's listen to some of these musicians featured in our "Music from the Kitchen" special as they talk about their home life during the pandemic.
