Patients endure Mexico quake as hospitals quickly respond to seismic alarms

Updated 2020.06.24 11:47 GMT+8

A powerful earthquake in southern Mexico swayed buildings Tuesday in Mexico City and sent thousands of people into the streets. At the Juarez hospital in Mexico City, one of several in the capital designated to treat COVID patients, seismic alarms sounded mid-morning with enough warning for the staff to be able to exit the building. As the building swayed and windows shook, doctors and nurses waited outside for the all-clear signal to go back into the building to continue care for their patients.
