At Aixihu Forest Wetland Park in Nanchang, capital city of east China's Jiangxi Province, a demoiselle crane was born on Tuesday. The demoiselle crane parents have been cohabiting for the last three years, according to park officials. On May 25, the female demoiselle crane laid her first egg.

This is the first naturally-bred demoiselle crane chick in Jiangxi. It is the smallest crane species, with a small population in China. The nesting and breeding of demoiselle cranes at Aixihu Forest Wetland Park testifies that the region's local ecological environment has improved in recent years.
