Former NBA star O.J. Mayo's 32 points and 10 rebounds were not enough for the Liaoning Flying Leopards, as they lost 101-90 to the all-Chinese Zhejiang Golden Bulls in the 2019-20 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season on Saturday.

It took almost the entire first half for Liaoning to get warmed up. Zhang Dayu opened the scoring for Zhejiang, and the team built a 10-point lead before the interval.

With a double-digit advantage, Zhejiang ended the third quarter leading 77-61. Though Liaoning at one point cut the lead to two points, Zhejiang never stopped scoring until the end of the game.

Guo Ailun of Liaoning recorded 15 points, and Han Dejun added 15 points and 8 rebounds.

Liaoning head coach Guo Shiqiang expressed his dissatisfaction with his team. "It's not a matter of technique. It's a matter of lacking fighting spirit," Guo fumed.

"I told my players that we need to beat strong teams in order to get strong. I am glad the young players stood out in the game," said Zhejiang coach, Liu Weiwei.
