The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday reported 40,588 new coronavirus cases, which brought the nationwide total to 2,414,870 cases. The CDC said coronavirus cases may be 10 times higher than reported, which means that over 20 million people are already believed to be infected. Dr. Rishi Desai, Chief Medical Officer for health education platform Osmosis.org, told CGTN that the U.S. is far away from herd immunity of COVID-19.
