Confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States have surpassed 2.5 million, including Arizona, Nevada and Florida's daily high on June 27. The surge in cases in southern states comes after businesses were allowed to reopen. Authorities in Texas and Florida have ordered bars across the state to close and issued more restrictions on restaurants. Almost 125,000 Americans have died of COVID-19, the highest known death toll in the world.
