Some of the most beautiful birds in China have built nests on the sand dunes in a wetland park in Haikou City of southern China's Hainan Province, which has excited staff members of the park.

The blue-tailed bee-eaters, richly-colored and slender, are identified by their mostly green body color, brown throat, black beak and blue tail. They feed on bees, dragonflies and other insects.

During the breeding season that lasts about four months, they usually dig a one-meter tunnel in the sand dunes to reach their nests.
