China's left-behind children helped by government programs and initiatives

Parents living away from home for extended periods of time should contact their children at least once a month and stay informed on their lives and general well-being. That's according to a new draft revision on a law to protect minors that's been submitted to China's top legislature for a second reading. Supporters say it aims to improve the welfare of those left behind.
