National Institutes of Health (NIH) Director Francis Collins and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield testify at a Senate subcommittee hearing to review Operation Warp Speed (OWS), a public-private partnership among components of the Department of Health and Human Services, including the CDC and the NIH. OWS was initiated by the U.S. government to develop, manufacture and distribute COVID-19 vaccines as well as therapeutics and diagnostics, with the goal of delivering 300 million doses of a safe, effective vaccine by next January.
