After a surge in coronavirus cases, the Republican governor of Texas has ordered residents to wear masks. It applies to all counties with over 20 cases. Governor Greg Abbott previously ignored calls from Democratic mayors to mandate the practice. Wearing face coverings has been unpopular among Abbott's conservative base.
