China on Saturday upgraded the emergency response for flood control from level IV to level III due to the current situation of flood prevention in the Yangtze River basin, according to the Changjiang Water Resources Commission. 

Earlier reports said the work of flood control, emergency rescue, and disaster relief is at a crucial stage at the moment as the country entered the main flood season.
