Hu Shiqun, a Chinese artist who lost his hearing due to illness when he was a child, recently drew characters of the well-known game Super Smash Bros on a wall with his team, catching people's attention, according to the Yangtze News.

He started his own painting studio in 2014 and recruited hearing-impaired people like himself, teaching them how to paint murals.

"I went to a special education schools at Bengbu city when I was around 12, and developed a strong interest in art and painting there," said Hu. My teachers think I have a talent on this, he added.

He started developing an interest in painting murals in 2011. Hu said he happened to meet a wall painting master, Wang Guangwen, who is a member of China Artists Association and a celebrated painter. Hu found his teacher and started to have a deeper understanding of the art.

Hu's team has eight regular members and more than 100 part-time painters, most of them are experienced painters who are hearing impaired. Hu said their hearing problems mean they are not as easily disturbed by external factors.
