Five years after taking Broadway by storm with its multi-racial, hip-hop take on America's founding fathers, musical "Hamilton" arrives in millions of homes around the world on Friday as a film.
The film, a 2016 version with the original cast, lands on the Disney+ streaming service as the Americans celebrate the Independence Day on July 4.
The musical is inspired by the story of Alexander Hamilton, the American Founding Father. Directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda, it is distinguished by hip-hop music and its cast of non-actors as the American founding fathers.

For Miranda, it provides a chance to connect with people who were shut out of the live theaters due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"It actually feels great that we have the ability to give this as a gift in this moment," said Miranda. "This reminder that hey, live theater is wonderful. Don't forget about us when we are able to come back."
The musical's going into the living room vows the American audience as well, with many took to Twitter to express their excitement. "Hamilton" has been trending on Twitter since its debut on the streaming service, and everyone is thrilled with the experience of watching it on their TV sets, first time ever or not.
"I'm genuinely excited for people who get to experience the magic of seeing #Hamilton for the first time," Twitter user Nancy Kiu tweeted.

"My mind, my soul, my ears and tears are not ready for Hamilton. I say this with upmost admiration, esteem and respect: Thank you Lin-Manuel Miranda," another user Sam Tutty tweeted.
According to Variety, the musical was originally scheduled for a theatrical release in October 2021, but was advanced and moved online due to the pandemic.
