Xiaolangdi Reservoir on the Yellow River has discharged water for the flood season that will be turned into a utilizable resource for wetlands downstream in the Yellow River Delta.

The replenishment will last about 20 days, with over 50 million cubic meters of water supplied to improve the environment in the delta. As the Yellow River contains high loads of sediment, a deposition process is needed before the water enters the wetlands.

In recent years, new methods of flood resource utilization have not only helped flood control, but also brought ecological and social benefits.
