The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) has established the Committee for Safeguarding National Security of the HKSAR, chaired by Chief Executive Carrie Lam. In an exclusive CGTN interview, Hong Kong Police Commissioner Chris Tang said he would make every effort to assist the chief executive in safeguarding national security and carrying out the committee's key duties, namely analyzing and assessing situations, advancing the development of the legal system and enforcement mechanisms, and coordinating major work and significant operations.
The commissioner said he would provide full support for the committee and work closely with other law enforcement authorities to bring all offenders who breach the national security law to justice.
