China, Ghana stress efforts in building China-Africa community with a shared future

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Sunday exchanged congratulatory messages on the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

In recent years, the bilateral cooperation has shown a sound momentum of all-round development, bringing tangible benefits to the people of both sides, Xi said, adding that the cooperation amid the pandemic expresses the true friendship and brotherhood between China and Africa.

"I attach great importance to the relations with Ghana and China is willing to make joint efforts in contributing to the building of China-Africa community with a shared future, taking the opportunity of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries," Xi said.

The Chinese president also highlighted the importance of deepening cooperation in building the Belt and Road and within the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

For his part, Akufo-Addo echoed that great achievements between the two sides have been reached during the past 60 years and Ghana is willing to work with China to further consolidate their traditional friendship and deepen strategic cooperation.

Noting Xi's great leadership in the fight against the coronavirus, the Ghanaian president expressed gratitude to China's support and help amid the pandemic, and said that what China has done has won international acclaim.
