A directional well was successfully drilled in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, with a depth of 8,725 meters, setting a new Asian record for directional drilling on land in terms of depth. Nearly 40 ultra-deep wells with a depth of 8,000-meter have already been drilled in the Shunbei oil and gas field. The China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec) Northeast Company is now able to achieve precision drilling in a three-dimensional space 8,000 meters underground.
