Some 10.71 million students in China are about to sit for the country's national college examination, or Gaokao in Chinese, on Tuesday. This exam will, in a way, decide their future. On Monday, NBA All-Star forward Tobias Harris sent these students his best wishes for Gaokao through a video posted on Weibo.

"Hey there all my China fans, it's Tobias Harris. For everyone taking their exam tomorrow, I just want to come out here and say, I wish you great luck. Obviously there has been a lot going on, there have been a lot of tough times that have been ahead. But through these times we built perseverance, we built courage, we built strength. And this is all a manifestation of us growing day to day. So everyone taking their exam, best of luck, get a great night of sleep, be ready to knock it off apart tomorrow, and just enjoy it. See ya," said Harris in the video.

Meanwhile, unlike other stars who have their accounts run by their staff, according to Tencent Sports, Harris manages his own Weibo posts which often include posts in Chinese. He has been learning the language for the same purpose. From time to time, he posts personal videos and replies to comments of his fans.

On April 4, Harris paid his respect to "all the heroes on the front line who put others before themselves" in China's battle against COVID-19 on his Weibo account. The gesture earned a lot of praise from the Chinese fans and Harris was the first foreign athlete to do so.

Harris was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in the middle of the 2018-19 season and signed a five-year, 180-million-U.S.-dollar contract with the team last summer. This season, he started all 65 games for Philadelphia and averaged 19.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists for the team.
