In the U.S. state of Texas, Austin Mayor Steve Adler said he hopes residents won't listen to "ambiguous message coming out of Washington", when stressing the need to keep social distances and wearing masks.

"When we start here in that kind of ambiguous message coming out of Washington. There are more and more people who won't wear masks and won't keep social distances," said Steve Adler. "They won't do what it takes to keep communities safe- and that's wrong and dangerous." Health experts in the U.S. worry there could be another surge of coronavirus cases, after the Independence Day celebrations. There's also pushback against President Trump's claim that 99% of the country's infections are harmless.
