The International Labour Organization (ILO) hosts the Global Summit on COVID-19 and the World of Work being held from July 7-9.
ILO Director-General Guy Ryder, Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres, Director-General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, and other leaders deliver speeches or send video messages to the conference.
According to ILO, the global labor market is facing a highly uncertain recovery in the second half of the year amid the coronavirus pandemic, with female workers suffering disproportionately from its impact.
The ILO also issued a report noting that long-term recovery plans depend on the future trajectory of the pandemic and government policy choices.
