According to the results of a survey, people from the Chinese mainland were the most satisfied with their government's anti-COVID-19 measures. The Chinese mainland topped the list with a score of 85 out of 100, greatly exceeding the global average of 45. Eighty-five percent of respondents on the Chinese mainland expressed confidence that China will emerge stronger from this crisis.
Much of this good momentum is credited to the people-oriented governing philosophy, which is deeply rooted in the ancient Chinese culture. The concept is based on a famous saying from the 2,000-year-old Confucian classic The Book of History or "Shang Shu", which says, "People are the foundation of a state. When the foundation is strong, the state is at peace."
